About the event
You are warmly invited to a public reception on Sunday, February 1st, from 2:00–4:00 PM, at the Millburn Library Gallery. Meet fellow history enthusiasts, engage with the themes of the exhibition, and reflect on the legacy of liberty as our nation approaches its 250th anniversary. This thoughtfully curated exhibition brings the past to life—past and present, local and national—tracing Millburn and Short Hills’ unique role in the American story. Beginning in the pre-Colonial era, visitors will explore how Revolutionary War events shaped our community, how those moments have been reflected in art and literature, and how the enduring ideals of independence continue to be honored and remembered today.
Whether you are a longtime resident, a student of history, or simply curious about the stories that shaped our community, this exhibition offers a meaningful opportunity to connect with the past and consider how remembrance continues to inform our future.
